What sparks your curiosity? Are you supporting your students’ inquisitive minds? No matter the grade you teach or the academic focus of your classroom, the Quest for Curiosity will engage your students and challenge them to harness the skills needed to shine in the 21st century.
Discovery Education’s Quest for Curiosity is a teacher-led, student-focused activity. Students will navigate Discovery Education STREAMING digital media resources and find the answers to 10 questions spanning core curricular areas. Along this path they will be exposed to relevant, engaging content tied to your state standards and the common core standards or your provincial standards.
Are you curious about the quest and excited to get started? You can start by clicking “Register” above and completing the registration form. Upon registering, you will receive a confirmation email including 5 ideas for integrating the Quest questions into your classroom activity, as well as, the first steps for implementation.
All teachers registered by March 20, 2011, will gain access to the Quest for Curiosity on March 21, 2011. Registrants will receive a “Quest for Curiosity Kick-Off” email containing the contest questions, tips and tricks for getting started, and access to the submission form.
Teachers will be responsible for compiling student responses into a single entry to be submitted via the submission form. Entries must be submitted by April 15, 2011. The first 5 teachers from the U.S. or Canada to submit an entry with 100% accuracy will win a grand prize package consisting of one Flip camera and 30 Discovery Education student backpacks. Twenty additional educator prizes, consisting of a classroom set of 30 Discovery Education student backpacks, will be awarded to the next 20 teachers from the U.S. or Canada who submit an entry with 100% accuracy. This a total of 25 prize opportunities! For eligibility and official rules, please consult the promotional terms and conditions . Contest winners will be notified by April 22, 2010. The winners of the contest will be announced at the Spring Virtual Conference on April 30, 2011.
